Alina Silian is a social anthropologist interested in the study of ethnopolitics and ethnic relations, citizenship and inequality. She has coordinated the qualitative research on Roma and Roma-related NGOs in the project “Sociographic mapping of the Roma communities in Romania for a community-level monitoring of changes with regard to Roma integration (SocioRoMap),” financed by the Norwegian Financial Mechanism 2009-2014 in the framework of ‘Poverty Alleviation in Romania)’ (RO25). She is currently working on the project “A youth-centred analysis of the changes in the nature and meaning of work (PASIM)”, supported by a grant of the Romanian National Authority for Scientific Research and Innovation
